Moo Moo, She’s TWO

My BABY is TWO!!

Oh my gosh, I feel like it was yesterday I saw that sweet little face for the first time.

Since my little girls came into my life, I have become obsessed with organizing a one of kind birthday party for them each year. If you know me, you know this is seriously my passion. 4 years into it, I am loving it even more.

Party planning isn’t something everyone loves. It can take a lot of time & money to organize. If you need some help, my party planning system lays everything out and I promise doesn’t break the bank because let’s face it, things can get pretty expensive.

This year I put together a super cute and fun barnyard themed party for my youngest. The decorations, food & everything in between is all here.

Keep reading for the ins & outs of Gracie’s Moo Moo I’m Two birthday party!

The Decorations & Details

I’ll start with the nitty gritty of this party:

The DETAILS!

Details are my favorite piece of every party. I just feel the little things are what pull it all together & make it memorable.

Note: I’ve linked all my purchases at the end of this post to make planning even easier!

I always begin the whole planning process with a color scheme as a guide.

Cow print was an obvious inspiration for this whole theme so black & white were naturally my first pick. I added some pink to give it all a girly feel.

MY COLORS:

Pink, Black & White

Everything I picked surrounded these 3 colors.

TIP: Limiting the color pallet helps keep things unified!

I grabbed  ½ a yard of cow print fabric to use throughout the decorations. This was really cute for the centerpieces, tassel garland & hair bow I made.

Tassel Garland:

This garland was such a fun addition and REALLY easy to make. I started with a long piece of tulle as the base strand. Alternating strips of the cow print fabric, yarn, ribbon and tulle, I looped each piece onto the base strand. Mixing the textures really gave it a cute, rustic feel.

Centerpieces:

This is a small detail that I reuse each year. I added some fabric bows to the small silver buckets and filled them with some brown crinkle cut paper filler.

Mason jars are one of my favorite pieces because they are so versatile. I reuse them for each party by changing the ribbon around them to match the theme. They are great for holding utensils and for this party, some fresh flowers. They were the perfect addition to the table!

Additional Little Things:

  • Burlap was a necessity here. I made some BIG bows and used the cow print fabric to tie everything together.

  • A little pink paint, white poster board, & ribbon transformed an old piece of cardboard into a sweet little pink barn backdrop!

  • What is a farm without TRACTORS!? Using a few sheets of colored construction paper, I made some big paper tractors. I linked them all together with a piece of twine.

  • Balloons and crepe paper are my typical fillers because they are inexpensive and ALWAYS look good. I found the CUTEST cow print balloons on Amazon. Paired with some pink balloons, they were a must for this party.

The Food

Food is a HUGE piece of every party & choosing the menu can be tough depending on your crowd.

Taking inspiration from a popular local burger place, I decided to go with a similar, kid-friendly menu.

Our spread consisted of:

Mini Burgers, French Fries, Queso & Chips, a Veggie Patch & of course BIG Milkshakes!

Most kids will eat anything that is miniature. I made mini sliders and served them on sweet rolls. French fries were a crowd pleaser too.

Queso & chips are a staple here in Texas. We served blue corn chips & white queso.

The farm veggie patch was a healthy addition with some ranch to dip it all in!

We had a few other snacks that my daughter loves and of course some apple juice boxes & sweet tea to drink on our farm!

Now for the biggest part:

THE MILKSHAKES

I opted out of the cake for this party and went with a milkshake bar instead. On a warm spring day, it was a HUGE HIT.

Each shake started with vanilla ice cream. The options for mix-its & toppings were chocolate syrup, strawberries, crushed cookies, & peanut butter cups.

One of the best purchases were THESE old fashioned milkshake glasses! It made serving them so much fun. The set I bought came with 6 glasses and 6 long spoons. Trust me, they are worth every penny!

We topped the shakes with whipped cream, sprinkles, and of course a cherry. Gracie’s naturally had 2 birthday candles too!

The Favors

Finally, the party favors! Mini milk cartons were my choice for holding some treats!

Let me just say, these were probably my favorite part of the entire party. They turned out SO CUTE!

I designed a milk carton pattern to cut with my Cricut. The size was made to fit an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of white cardstock.

You can find the free SVG file HERE!

Note: The lines within the overall shape should be set to score in Cricut Design Space. This makes it much easier to fold them in the all of the correct places!

They folded together really easy & I secured the sides with double sided tape.

I wanted a cute little label for the carton so I came up with this design. You can find the free SVG file for the label HERE!

I used some pink vinyl so it would stick well to the carton.

We filled them with Oreo cookies and milk chocolate treats. I closed the tops together with a small dot of glue, added thank you tags and poked a hole for a straw as the last little detail!

Sometimes I come up with something that just makes me SO HAPPY, and this was one of those things. I am obsessed with how cute they turned out!!!!!
