Exploration is the key to developing the best ideas.

My digital illustrations are a collection of mock editorial, commercial, and concept based images I completed while earning my M.A. in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design.

Stop Bullying Illustration & Poster.

This illustration was designed as part of a “combat bullying” campaign for an organization within a school district. The goal was to design a poster that promoted a culture of kindness throughout the community and school.

  • Sketches.

My sketches explored design ideas that would illustrate the importance of kindness. Continual brainstorming helped to refine my ideas and develop an idea that was more appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Comps.

Narrowing down my sketches, I digitally rendered multiple tonal comps using Adobe Photoshop to generate an idea of the final visual outcome. Through this exploration I decided on a sketch to move forward with for the final poster.

  • Final.

The final illustration visually conveys the message in an eye-catching, colorful and positive light. Using Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos Pro, I digitally rendered the hands and elements. The final application of a unique textural overlay gives the finished illustration cohesiveness.

The type was added as part of the final printed posters that were displayed.

Body Image Illustration Project.

This mock editorial illustration project was created for an article that explores the effect media has on young women’s perception of their bodies and the ideality today’s female society longs for.

  • Sketches.

My sketches explored connections between different forms of media, various portions of the female body and social comparison. Continual brainstorming helped to refine my ideas.

  • Comps.

Narrowing down my sketches, I digitally rendered tonal comps using Adobe Photoshop to generate an idea of the final visual outcome. Through this exploration I made the necessary adjustments to composition, lighting, and proportions in order to perfect the technical details.

  • Final.

My final illustrations visually convey the triggers of social media on the perceptions of the female body in particular. Using Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos Pro, I digitally rendered the forms of the figures. The final application of unique textural overlays gives the finished illustrations cohesiveness.
